SANTIAGO, Dominican Republic – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers continued with the Dominican Republic defeating Belize, 6-1, in Group D on Saturday at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic pulled ahead with two goals in quick succession. Brianne Reed opened the scoring with a header to the center of the goal in the 16’, followed by a finish from inside the box to the bottom-left corner from Mia Asenjo in the 18’.
Gabriella Cuevas added a third for Las Quisqueyanas in the 23’, with a header to the far post to capitalize on a cross from Winibian Peralta following a corner.
Khalydia Velasquez shortened the deficit for Belize in the 45’+2’, applying pressure to recover possession in the final third before finding the back of the net.
Strikes from close range from Asenjo in the 48,’ and from the center of the box from Alyssa Oviedo in the 59’, further extended the lead for the hosts.
Peralta sealed the result for the Dominican Republic in the 84’ with a stunner from the left end of the box.
The Dominican Republic Guyana will visit Anguilla and Barbuda next Friday in the Qualifiers. Belize’s next encounter will be in the April Qualifying window.
