MIAMI – The FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025 continued on Monday, as Concacaf nation USA began its campaign with a victory.
With its first three points, the United States began Group E play in first place. France follows in second place with a win earlier in the day over South Africa.
USA 9, New Caledonia 1
The United States earned a 9-1 win against New Caledonia in Group E at Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua, Chile.
Benjamin Cremaschi placed the USA in front with goals in the 2’ and 4’. Niko Tsakiris extended the lead in the 7’.
Frankie Westfield added a fourth for the Stars and Stripes in the 28’. Nolan Norris penned his name on the scoresheet in the 35’ as the Americans continued on the offensive.
Cremaschi completed his hat-trick in the 37’ before Norris earned his brace in the 44’, placing USA up 7-nil at halftime.

Taha Habroune extended the U.S. lead in the second half by scoring in the 68’.
Wapae Simane scored the first New Caledonia goal at a FIFA U-20 World Cup in the 70’ to cut the deficit.
Cole Campbell added a ninth for the USA in the 73’ to put a bow on the victory.
The U.S. will defend its first place standing against France on Thursday.
