MIAMI – The Final Round of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Qualifiers continues with a Central American clash between Nicaragua and El Salvador in Group A on Thursday at Costa Rica Federation Field #1 in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
This will be the fifth time these teams face each other in the Women’s U-17 category. Their last encounter came in 2015. El Salvador leads the all-time series with a 3-0-1 record.
Nicaragua will seek to bounce back after starting the Final Round with a 5-nil loss to Canada on Tuesday.
El Salvador is coming off a 1-1 draw against the Dominican Republic. Emma Torres struck for La Selecta in the 70’, before the Dominicans rescued a point in stoppage time.

El Salvador and Nicaragua will face each other for the first time in any round of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship.
El Salvador will face a Central American team for the fifth time in the history of the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship (W-1 D-2 L-1). The only victory came in a 6-0 win against Guatemala on April 24, 2022, in Group H at Estadio Panamericano in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, with goals from Cynthia Ramírez, Breanna Julissa Medina (2), Carolina del Carmen Ayala, and Karoline Mercedes Velásquez (2).
El Salvador has recorded two consecutive draws in its last two matches against Central American teams:
2-2 vs Costa Rica (February 5, 2024)
1-1 vs Honduras (March 31, 2025).
Nicaragua will face a Central American team for the fourth time in the Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship and has yet to record a victory:
2-0 vs Panama (April 27, 2022)
1-0 vs Costa Rica (April 30, 2022)
2-0 vs Panama (April 6, 2025).
