BRADENTON, Florida – A 1-1 draw versus Mexico on Friday at the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship left Haiti Head Coach Fiorda Charles feeling proud of her team.

“I’m very proud of my players today because they gave a good performance in the game, so we are looking forward to the rest of the competition,” said Charles.

The draw capped an unbeaten group stage campaign for the Haitians, who finished with a record of 2W-1D-0L, with 7GF, 2GC.

Charles was quick to hail her team’s resolve during Friday’s affair.

“I think we played with heart and talent, they used it. It was a tough match. Everyone we put on gave their best. I think it was a good game for us,” said Charles.

Haiti will now turn their attention to Sunday’s semifinal in which they will face either the United States or Canada.

In order to win and clinch a berth in the 2018 FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup, Charles knows there needs to be some fine-tuning on the practice field before Sunday.

“We have to fix things that aren’t perfect and we keep on moving,” concluded Charles.
