DOHA, Qatar – The FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 continued on Monday with four Concacaf nations closing out their Group Stage encounters at the Aspire Zone in Doha, Qatar.

Switzerland 3, Mexico 1

Mexico fell 3-1 to Switzerland in Group F at Aspire Zone - Pitch 3 in Doha, Qatar.

Mladen Mijajlovic scored the opening goal in the 17’ to place the Swiss in front. Switzerland doubled its lead in the 20’ on a Santiago Lopez own goal.

Aldo De Nigris cut one back for Mexico in the 57', but Mijajlovic struck again in the 58’ to deny the comeback.

El Tricolor concludes the Group Stage with a 1-0-2 record and will await the final standings to determine a place in the Round of 32.

      Aldo de Nigiris scored his sixth goal across Concacaf U-17 Championship and the current FIFA U-17 World Cup. Besides being the top-scorer for Mexico between both tournaments, he has also been involved in at least one goal in four of El Tri’s last five competitive matches (four goals, one assist).

      Gael García led Mexico in chances created for the third consecutive FIFA U-17 World Cup match, performing two today. In total, the Mexican has nine chances created throughout the tournament, more than any other El Tri player at Indonesia 2023.

      Ian Olivera provided the assist for Mexico's only goal against Switzerland, marking his second goal involvement at the FIFA U-17 World Cup after scoring against Ivory Coast. Only Francisco Venegas (3 in 2015) has been involved in more goals than him (2) among El Tri defenders since 2013.

El Salvador 0, Germany 7

El Salvador fell 0-7 to Germany in Group G at Aspire Zone - Pitch 5 in Doha, Qatar.

Germany was victorious with goals from Jeremiah Mensah (32’, 57’), Alexander Staff (41’), Wisdom Mike (45’), Lasse Eickel (69'), and Christian Prenaj (84’), along with forcing an own goal from Andrew Reyes in the 52’.

Diego Mejía led the way for El Salvador with three shots. La Selecta exits its debut campaign with a 0-1-2 record.

Post-Match Stats 

      Only one of the last seven debuting Concacaf teams earned more points than El Salvador (1) in their first edition of the tournament: Panama, who managed three points in 2011 thanks to a win in their opening match.

      Andrew Reyes became the first player at the FIFA U-17 World Cup for Qatar to register four or more tackles in two tournament matches while maintaining a 100% success rate in these actions. The El Salvador player completed four out of four against Germany.

      Diego Mejía registered the most shots for El Salvador in the game despite starting the match on the bench. He was the player with the most goal involvements (shots and chances created) for La Selecta throughout the tournament (three shots, one key pass), alongside Kerin Torres (two shots, three chances created) and Luis Tobar (four shots)

Honduras 2, Indonesia 1

Honduras fell 2-1 to Indonesia in Group H at Aspire Zone - Pitch 2 in Doha, Qatar.

The two sides traded penalties to open the scoring, with Evandra Florasta converting in the 52' for Indonesia, before Luis Suazo equalized for Honduras.

Indonesia took the full three points thanks to Fadly Alberto in the 72’.

Honduras concludes its campaign with a 0-0-3 record.

      Luis Suazo scored Honduras’s second-ever goal from the penalty spot in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, following the goal scored by Johnny Leverón against Argentina in the 2007 edition.

      Suazo’s goal was just Honduras’s second set-piece goal at the FIFA U-17 World Cup since 2013. The previous one was a direct free-kick scored by Joshua Canales against New Caledonia in the 2017 edition.

      Luis Suazo accumulated 0.88 xG (Expected Goals) from his shots against Indonesia. This is the second-highest xG figure in a single match for a Honduras player since Carlos Mejía's 0.98 xG against New Caledonia in 2017. Suazo was also the player with the most dribbles attempted and completed in this match (5/8).

Venezuela 4, Haiti 2

Haiti fell 4-2 to Venezuela in Group E at Aspire Zone - Pitch 9 in Doha, Qatar.

Diego Claut placed Venezuela in the lead at the 6’ before John Mancilla extended the lead from the penalty spot.

Da-Benz Jacquet cut the deficit for Haiti in the 41’, and Woodson Felix equalized in the 72’. Venezuela took the full three points with a brace from David Garcia (80’, 90'+4').

Haiti exits the 2025 edition with a 0-0-3 record.

Post-Match Stats

      Haiti is the first Concacaf team to score in the first half with only one shot on target in the current FIFA U-17 World Cup. Da-bens Jacquet scored in the 41st minute after two previous attempts by his team went wide.

      Da-Bens Jaqcuet (1 goal) and Woodson Felix (1 assist and 1 goal) scored and assisted for the first time in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Haiti surpasses their last participation in 2019 (4) in the number of players who were involved in at least one goal in an edition with five.

      Haiti is one of five teams to have scored all of their goals from open play in the current FIFA U-17 World Cup (4/4), along with Mali, Ivory Coast, Tajikistan, and Qatar. 

      Woodson Félix became the first Haitian player to score a goal and provide an assist in the same FIFA U-17 World Cup match since at least 2013.
