BRADENTON, Florida – Guadeloupe has advanced to the 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship after downing Aruba 2-0 on the final matchday of Group C of CU17 Qualifying on Monday.
With the victory, Les Gwada Boys took top spot in the group with a perfect 4W-0D-0L, with 15 goals scored and just one against.
Jonael Pierre Gervelas helped settle any early nerves with an opening score in the 8’. Aruba then looked to pull level but was unable to breach Guadeloupe’s sturdy defense.
Finally, in the second minute of second half stoppage time, Guadeloupe would seal its CU17 spot with a Louis-alexandre Clement Merabli goal for the 2-0 final.
