BRADENTON, Florida – The 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship continued on Thursday with plenty of drama, as Barbados earned a draw with Guatemala thanks to a last-gasp equalizer, while the United States stormed back from a two-goal deficit to top Canada.

Guatemala vs. Barbados, Group F

A goal in the final seconds earned Barbados a dramatic 1-1 draw with Guatemala to open Group F.

The Chapines were in control after Mathius Gaitan’s score in the 55’, but Barbados’ persistence would pay off as Thierry Gale scored in the third minute of second half stoppage time to get the result.

United States vs. Canada, Group F

The United States rallied from a 2-0 deficit to claim a dramatic 3-2 victory over Canada in Group F action.

The Canadians were riding high with back-to-back goals in the 21’ and 22’ through Jeremie Omeonga Nkoy and Jacen Russell-Rowe.

But the U.S. would storm back in the second half and halved the deficit to one in the 49’ after a Gianluca Busio goal. Axel Alejandre brought the U.S. level in the 63’ before Giovanni Reyna tallied the winning score in the 69’.

Suriname vs. Curacao, Group H

Suriname and Curacao opened Group H with a thrilling 1-1 draw. Geraldo Reumel had Suriname feeling good after notching the game’s first goal in the 14’, but Curacao would battle back and pull level in the 31’ through Roshyson Anita.

Each team had a crack at earning a winning goal, but neither was able to convert against a pair of sturdy defenses.

Costa Rica vs. Panama, Group H

The other day’s action in Group H also ended in a draw, as Costa Rica and Panama played to a 2-2 final.

A Manfred Ugalde goal in the 24’ gave the Ticos the lead, only for the Canaleros to answer in the 31’ through Eric Pinto.

Once again Costa Rica would have the upper hand, as Geancarlo Castro converted from the penalty spot three minutes later in the 34’ and looked set to claim the three points, only for Aaron Lowis to strike late in the 83’ for a share of the points.
