US Virgin Islands 0, Bermuda 8

Man of the Match:  Osagi Bascome (Bermuda)

 

Ahria Simons and Oneko Lowe scored two goals each as Bermuda opened its CONCACAF Under-15 Championship campaign with an 8-0 victory over the US Virgin Islands.  Simons’ 18th minute strike was the first in the competition’s history.  The Bermudians jumped out to a 5-0 half-time lead, adding on three more in the final 23 minutes to complete the scoreline.  Man of the Match winner Osagi Bascome netted the last just prior to the final whistle.

 

 

 

at West Port, Cayman Islands (Ed Bush Stadium)

Aruba 4, Bahamas 0

GOALS: Jean-Pierre Van Der Linden 1’; Denrick Lopez 3’, 51’; Oscar Garcia Arias 23’

 

Man of the Match:  Denrick Lopez (Aruba)

 

Aruba scored twice in the opening three minutes and used a stingy defense to beat the Bahamas, 4-0. 

Jean-Pierre Van Der Linden netted the game’s first goal before sixty-seconds had elapsed.  Two minutes later, Denrick Lopez struck for the first of his two tallies.  Oscar Garcia Arias made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute.  The Bahamians tried to get back into the match after the break, but Lopez crushed those ambitions in the 51st minute, completing his brace.

Cayman Islands 12, Sint Maarten 0

GOALS: Leighton Thomas Jr. 1’, 16’, 21’, 24’, 36’; Cameron Gray 10’; Zachary Scott 13’; Sebastian Martinez 34’, 57’; Kray Foster 58’; Elijah Seymour 62’; Joshua McKenzie 64’.

 

Leighton Thomas Jr. scored in the first minute of each half on the way to racking up five goals and leading the host Cayman Islands to a 12-0 win over Sint Maarten.  Playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, the eventual Man of the Match was aided by a complete team effort that saw six other players get their names on the scoresheet.  Sebastian Martinez tallied twice, once in each half.
