Mexico, British Virgin Islands among big winners on Day 4 at CBU15 Championship

BRADENTON, Florida – Division 1 had a full slate of action, while several teams from Division 3 also saw the field on Wednesday at the 2019 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship.

Division 1

Group A

Reigning champion Mexico enjoyed a complete performance in a 5-0 win over Curacao, while Reymundo Williams’s brace laid the groundwork for Panama’s 3-0 triumph against visiting Israel.

Group B

The star of the day in Group B was Victor Valdez, who notched a hat trick in the 4-0 win for the United States versus Suriname, while a last-minute goal from Widmison Loute (70’) earned Haiti a heartstopping 1-1 draw with Guatemala.

Group C

It was a convincing 4-0 victory for Canada against Guadeloupe in Group C, while visiting Slovenia squeaked out a 1-0 win over El Salvador.

Group D

Visiting Portugal looked a confident side as it downed Trinidad and Tobago 3-0, meanwhile Jewison Bennette Villegas scored in the 42’ to hand Costa Rica an exciting 2-1 win against Barbados.

Division 3

Group J 

There were plenty of thrills in Division 3 Group J with British Virgin Islands taking home a 2-0 win over Turks and Caicos Islands thanks to goals from Matthew Stephenson (22’) and Oliver Brown (70+3’). In the group’s other match, Dominica held off a strong charge from Saint Martin, 2-1 with goals from Adriel Lawrence (6’) and Yhan Timothy (20’).
