TOKYO, Japan – The stakes will be very high on Wednesday night as Honduras take on South Korea in their Group B finale of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the International Stadium Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan.

Honduras are second in the group and a win would see the Catrachos reach the knockout stage of the Olympics for a third straight time.

The Central Americans are coming off a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against New Zealand in which Honduras scored two goals in the final 15 minutes to rally from a 2-1 deficit to claim the three points.

Luis Palma, Juan Carlos Obregon Jr. and Rigoberto Rivas each had goals against the Kiwis and those three players and more will be called upon to deliver another strong performance against South Korea.

South Korea rebounded in style from an opening 1-0 defeat to New Zealand with a commanding 4-0 victory over Romania.

Lee Kang-in scored a pair of goals to help spearhead the effort, so it will be imperative for the Honduran defense to keep Kang-in and the other South Korean playmakers under wraps.

Ironically, these two nations met in the quarterfinals at Rio 2016, with Honduras emerging with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Alberth Elis. Honduras would like nothing more than a similar result on Wednesday.
