ENSCHEDE, Netherlands – Mexico international Jesus Corona signed a contract extension that will keep him with FC Twente through at least mid-2018, it was announced Tuesday.
The 21-year-old winger joined the Dutch side in August 2013 from Monterrey, where he won three CONCACAF Champions League titles and a Mexican league crown. In 2012, he scored two goals for the Rayados in three FIFA Club World Cup matches.
“I am delighted with this new contract,” said Corona. “It expresses the confidence of the club and of the coaches. It has just been getting used to making the move from Mexico to the Netherlands, but now I feel in my place here. I feel that I have grown in recent months as a footballer.”
Corona, who made his national team debut against the Netherlands last month, has appeared in 26 Eredivisie games and scored five goals.
