MIAMI, Florida – Less than a month before the start of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, many national teams have announced their squads, with many players from the NWSL in those lists, showing once again that this league is one of the most competitive around the world.

With this in mind, players from all the teams take to the pitch ready to keep improving their game before leaving to defend their countries.

OL Reign went home with three points on Saturday evening after defeating the San Diego Wave 2-1, helping OL Reign get to third place in the table. In the 8’ minute Bethany Balcer scored the first goal with a header after a great assist from Quinn.

San Diego managed to pull one back thanks to a header by Jaedyn Shaw in the 47’, however, it was Balcer’s night, as she scored her second header and the winning goal for OL Reign in the 77’.

The Kansas City Current managed to climb out of the bottom of the table after their 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon against the Orlando Pride. Brazilian sensation Debinha scored the first one for Kansas City in the 29’ from a long shot outside the area.

Cece Kizer then doubled the lead in the 45 '+1 after Orlando’s defense wasn’t able to stop her. The hosts did pull one back in the 58’ after the referee called a penalty, with captain and women’s football legend Marta converting.

On Saturday evening, Gotham FC defeated the Chicago Red Stars 2-1, winning for the first time in four games to reach fifth place in the table. Lynn Williams scored her seventh goal of the season and the first one of the matches in the 46’ after receiving the ball and, with little space, finding the back of the net.

Cari Roccaro pulled one back for Chicago, firing into goal after a great collective play and an assist by Sarah Griffith in the 55’. But Gotham kept pushing and in the 69’ Alexandra Long, from a free kick, gave her team the winning goal of the night.
