TOLUCA, México.-  The Under-13 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League resumed on Sunday with the quarterfinal round in which CD Plaza Amador made a big statement.

The Panamanian side punched its ticket to the semifinals with a dominating 5-0 victory over San Juan Jabloteh of Trinidad and Tobago. Rafael Antonio Mosquera Diaz bagged a brace as the Canaleros tallied all five goals in the first 37 minutes.

In the other three quarterfinals, defense was the name of the game, as Mexico’s Juniors Tampico edged Costa Rican outfit Futbol Consultants 1-0 and Montreal Impact of Canada narrowly defeated Real Esteli of Nicaragua by the same scoreline.

Meanwhile, there were no goals in the Toronto FC-Los Angeles FC quarterfinal, forcing the teams to decide matters from the penalty spot where the Californian side emerged victorious, 4-3.

There was no shortage of thrills in the Shield Tournament, either, as Cantera Yucatan’s Hector Parra Aguilar became the first player in the tournament to score four goals in a match, helping power the Mexican side past Aguilas Del Uagro 6-2.
