PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago – The 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup continued with Defence Force FC and Weymouth Wales FC playing to a 1-1 draw in Group B on Thursday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The first-ever meeting between clubs from Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados in the Caribbean Cup was mostly quiet in the first half until stoppage time.
Defence Force’s Joshua Araujo-Wilson delivered a perfectly placed corner kick to the back post for Shaquille Bertrand to knock home the header in the 45’+1’.
Weymouth Wales FC got its equalizer in the 79’, as a long throw-in from Mario Williams wasn’t cleared and fell to Ackeel Applewhaite to smash the shot.
With the draw, both sides are tied with four points each. Defending champions Cavalier FC, also have four points in hand, setting up a three-team race for a top two spot and the accompanying berth to the Semifinals.
The final matchday of the Group Stage on Wednesday will feature simultaneous encounters when Defence Force plays group winners Cibao FC, while Weymouth Wales take on Cavalier FC.
