MIAMI – The 2025 CFU Club Shield concluded on Sunday with the Final and Third Place Match, highlighted by Moca FC defeating Weymouth Wales in the championship match.

Club Franciscain defeated Academy Eagles in the Third Place Match earlier in the evening. Both of Sunday’s encounters took place at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago.

Third Place Match - Academy Eagles 0, Club Franciscain 2

Club Franciscain earned a 2-nil victory over Academy Eagles to take third-place honors.

The Martinique side took the lead through Stéphane Abaul in the 13’ on a corner kick opportunity.

Mathis Priam extended the lead in the 85’ to seal the victory and the bronze medal.

Final – Moca FC 3, Weymouth Wales 2

Moca FC earned a 3-2 win against Weymouth Wales in the championship match to become the winners of the 2025 edition.

Gustavo Ascona scored the opening goal in the 24’ to place the Dominican Republic side in front.

Richard Dabas extended the lead in the 75’ to culminate a counterattack that began with Yohan Parra winning the ball back in the opposing half.

Sergio Ventura added the third for Moca FC in the 82’, striking inside the box after circumventing the defense.

Weymouth Wales began to cut the deficit, first with a free kick strike from Andre Applewhaite in the 86’.

Applewhaite then provided the assist on the second goal, from another free kick chance, finding Nicoli Brathwaite at the far post in the 87’.

Wales’ comeback bid would fall short as Moca FC became the first club from the Dominican Republic to lift the CFU Club Shield.

The result of the Final also decides which group each side is placed into in the 2025 Concacaf Caribbean Cup, as decided by the tournament’s official draw in June.

Moca FC, as the CFU Club Shield Champion, completes Group A with Mount Pleasant FA, SV Robinhood, O&M FC, and Central FC.

Weymouth Wales, the CFU Club Shield Runner-Up, joins Group B with Cibao FC, Cavalier FC, Defence Force FC, and Juventus de Cayes.
