SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS – The 2022 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship in the Dominican Republic continues on Sunday at the Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros with Jamaican sides Cavalier and Waterhouse getting their first taste of action.

Cavalier will be first to take the field, as they meet Violette of Haiti in Group A action.

Violette suffered a 3-0 defeat to home side Cibao FC in their opening match, but a chance to rebound presents itself against Cavalier.

As for the Jamaicans, it will be a match that forever lives in club history, as it will be their first ever international match.

Cavalier earned their place in the 2022 FCCCC thanks to winning Jamaica’s National Premier League title in 2021, and now they will seek a first ever Concacaf win.

The nightcap sees Arcahaie of Haiti taking on Waterhouse in Group B play.

Arcahaie fought until the end in their opening match against Atletico Vega Real, narrowly losing 2-1. However, it did feature a brilliant strike from Lelwalny Bien-Aime, who fired in a right-footed shot to pull Arcahaie to within a goal during the second half.

Arcahaie can also look to recent history for inspiration. In the 2020 FCCCC, they suffered a defeat in their opening match to a Dominican opponent, Atletico Pantoja, only to bounce back in their second match against a Jamaican foe (Portmore United), which ultimately clinched a third-place finish.

Waterhouse are plenty familiar with the difficulties of the FCCCC, as they will make their third appearance in the last four editions of the tournament.

A win will be paramount to be able to reach the next stage.
