MIAMI, Florida – Mexico suffered their second defeat at the 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup with a 5-2 loss to Oman in Group D action on Sunday at the Dubai Design District Stadium in Dubai.

Mexico enjoyed a very good start and were even at 1-1 after the first period thanks to a goal from Cristofher Castillo with just 17 seconds remaining before Interval 1.

Things were looking even better for Mexico at the beginning of the second period, as a Diego Martinez goal earned Mexico a 2-1 lead.

However, Oman struck back for two goals to close the second period and then added another two goals in the third period for the 5-2 final.

USA vs Egypt

The United States will look to close out their 2024 Beach Soccer World Cup campaign in Group A on a high note when they face Egypt on Monday.

While the U.S. are eliminated from advancing to the next phase of the tournament, there is still ample opportunity to finish in a positive manner. The U.S. lost 3-1 to Italy in their opener before a last-second extra-time 3-2 defeat to the UAE on Saturday.

The U.S. take on an Egypt side that lost 2-1 to the UAE and 6-2 to Italy in their first two matches.
