MALAGA, Spain – After headline grabbing performances at the recently completed FIFA World Cup, Mexico international goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has joined Malaga, the Spanish La Liga side announced Friday.

The 29-year-old free agent, who spent the previous three seasons in France with Ajaccio, signed a three-year contract.

Ochoa was outstanding in Brazil, keeping clean sheets against Cameroon and the host, as the Tricolor advanced to the Round of 16 for the sixth straight time.

His career started with Mexican giant Club America, where he won one league title (2005 Clausura) and played in three matches at the 2006 FIFA Club World Cup over the course of eight years.  In July 2011, he left for Ajaccio.

Internationally, Ochoa has appeared in 11 all-time World Cup qualifiers, won the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup and helped Mexico to a third-place finish at the 2007 Copa America.
