ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada -- The Grenada Football Association (GFA) continued the process of image transformation and strengthening delivery of programs on Friday, when it announced addition of Areen Lewis as Commercial Officer and Bruce Swan as Competitions Officer.

Lewis, who has developed extensive networks in the business community, comes to the organization with a wealth of experience in marketing and events management. She has led the successful annual Bucket vs Cooler and Jouvert in July fetes, and also heads the Golden Child Foundation, a philanthropic organization which aims to support children in need of school supplies, advice and tutoring services

Swan, a former member of the GFA Executive, brings 10 years of experience with the Grenada Ministry of Sport into his new position. He played an active role in managing events such as the England cricket tour of the West Indies, Caribbean T20, Carifta Games and, most recently, the 2016 CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship in Grenada. Additionally, Swan has also played a leading role in football development in his community over the last two decades. In 2015, his club Boca Juniors placed third in the GFA Premier League.

Sharing his confidence in the organization’s new direction, GFA, President Cheney Joseph said, “We want to make a positive impact on our partners in 2017 and to do so we will leave no stone unturned in getting it right.

“Our recent activities such as the MOU signed with the GUT (Grenada Union of Teachers), improvement in coaching education, establishment of the National Youth League, Club Licensing and hiring of professionals to improve the delivery of our products are some of the signs that have received positive reviews already from many persons including the business community and our affiliates.”
