MIAMI – The 2025/26 Concacaf Friendly Series kicked off with sixteen nations taking part of the opening matchday on Wednesday.
Cuba, Saint Martin, Barbados, Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands were among the winning nations on day one.
Group A
Cuba 3, Saint Lucia 0
Cuba won 3-nil against Saint Lucia in Group A at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Romario Torres struck the opening goal in the 38’ to place Cuba in the lead. Yasnier Matos extended the Cuban lead in the 45’+1’. Dairon Reyes added a third in the 53’ to seal the victory.
Dominican Republic 2, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines 0
The Dominican Republic won 2-nil against Saint Vincent and The Grenadines in Group A at Estadio Cibao FC in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Heinz Mörschel opened the scoring in the 17’ to place the hosts in front. Erick Paniagua extended the Dominican Republic’s lead in the 57’.
Group B
Dominica 1, Saint Martin 2
Saint Martin won 2-1 against Dominica in Group B at the SKNFA Technical Center in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Troy Jules broke the deadlock in the 47’ to place Dominica in front.
Yannick Bellechasse equalized in the 79’, before striking the match-winning goal in the 90’+1’.
Saint Kitts and Nevis 0, Sint Maarten 0
Saint Kitts and Nevis played to a nil-nil draw with Sint Maarten in Group B at the SKNFA Technical Center in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Goalkeepers Julani Archibald of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Tyrell Richardson of Sint Maarten each posted a clean sheet for their respective teams.
Group C
Barbados 3, Bonaire 2
Barbados won 3-2 against Bonaire in Group C at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Saint George, Antigua and Barbuda.
Barbados took the lead in the 10’ through Jaron Oughterson. Ackeel Applewhaite doubled the lead in the 34’ before Oughterson collected his brace in the 45’+1’.
Bonaire cut the deficit through goals from Ayrton Cicilia in the 55’ and Siginho Gerardo in the 90’.
Antigua and Barbuda 0, Aruba 0
Antigua and Barbuda drew nil-nil with Aruba in Group C at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Saint George, Antigua and Barbuda.
Shahoi Dorsett of Antigua and Barbuda and Matthew Lentink of Aruba each collected a clean sheet.
Group D
Bahamas 1, Anguilla 2
Anguilla earned a 2-1 win over The Bahamas in Group D at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands.
Mekhi Connor opened the scoring in the 11’ for Anguilla. William Bayles equalized in the 52’ to put the teams back on level terms.
Tarique Jackson struck the winning goal in the 87’ to award the victory to Anguilla.
Cayman Islands 1, British Virgin Islands 2
The British Virgin Islands won 2-1 against the Cayman Islands in Group D at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands.
Elijah Seymour placed the Cayman Islands in the lead in the 38’. The British Virgin Islands tied in the 62’ off a Jordan Bonilla own goal.
Javaun Splatt converted a penalty kick attempt in the 81’ to deliver the victory to the visitors.
