PANAMA CITY, Panama – Two teams with dreams of returning to the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, Tauro of Panama and Motagua of Honduras, will lock horns in the first leg of the 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League semifinals on Thursday night at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.
2018 SCCL quarterfinalists Tauro comes into the encounter on a high after eliminating Nicaraguan side Walter Ferretti 7-1 in the previous round.
Tauro packs a vicious one-two punch up top with Edwin Aguilar and Armando Polo, who each have three goals in the current SCL.
But a sturdy test awaits against a Motagua defense that has conceded just two goals in four matches in the 2018 SCL.
The Catracho outfit arrives into Thursday’s clash after eliminating Jamaica’s Portmore United 5-2 on aggregate in the quarterfinals and will look to dangerman Rubilio Castillo (3 goals) to lead the attack against the Canaleros.
