SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – Attacking midfielder Brayan Moya is proving to be a key figure in the Olimpia attack as the Honduran power attempts to capture the inaugural Scotiabank CONCACAF League title.

The 24-year-old has appeared in all six of the Leones’ matches in the competition – registering one assist – and is currently the side’s leading scorer in the 2017 Apertura with three goals.

Speaking with reporters ahead of Thursday’s final, first leg against visiting Santos de Guapiles, Moya emphasized that head coach Carlos Restrepo’s faith has allowed him to succeed on the field.

“It is the confidence that the coach gives me.  I think that matters a lot,” said Moya.  “Thank God he came to give me a chance and I am taking advantage.”

For the former Vida man, the SCL event marks his first-ever final.  He’s excited by the possibilities of that milestone.

“It’s the first final that I’m going to play, and what a great final,” Moya concluded.  “I am going to try to take advantage.  It would be something else to add to my career and we hope that we come out as champions.”

Moya played for Vida from August 2015 – December 2016, before joining Olimpia ahead of the 2016 Clausura campaign.
