MIAMI, Florida – The second leg matches of the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf League semifinals saw a number of players deliver top performances. Here are the ones who stood out the most at their respective position.

GK Edrick Menjivar, Olimpia – The Olimpia shot-stopper had three saves and made two clearances to record a clean sheet to help his side to a 1-0 win over Motagua and a place in the Final.

DF Carlos Sanchez, Olimpia – The hero of the night for Olimpia, Sanchez scored his dramatic game-winning goal in the 87th minute with a great run and even better finish. He also completed 89 percent of his passes.

DF Giancarlo Gonzalez, Alajuelense – Gonzalez found the back in second half stoppage time to earn his side a 2-2 draw with Real Espana. It proved to be a pivotal one, as it secured the second leg of the Final at home for Alajuelense.

DF Maylor Nunez, Olimpia – It was Nunez’s surgical pass that led to Sanchez’s winner, but he did a lot more, including two steals and completing 20 of 22 passes.

MF Walter Martinez, Motagua – There was hardly an errant pass from Martinez all night, as he completed 75 of 76 passes for Motagua.

MF Hector Castellanos, Motagua – Castellanos finished the night as the top ranked midfielder after another workhorse performance in the Motagua midfield. Castellanos had a steal, took a shot and completed 105 passes.

MF Mayron Flores, Real Espana – Real Espana gave Alajuelense plenty of fits and Flores had a lot to do with that, as he completed 94 percent of his passes and also took a shot.

MF Aaron Suarez, Alajuelense – Suarez is seemingly a threat any time he is on the field and he showed that with two shots on Tuesday night, to go along with 54 of 62 passes completed.

MF Michaell Chirinos, Olimpia – When Olimpia went down a man midway through the first half, calm was needed in the middle of the park and Chirinos provided that by completing 82 percent of his passes and making a steal.

FW Ramiro Rocca, Real Espana – The Argentine FW sits firmly atop the 2022 SCL scoring table with six goals after his brace on Tuesday night against Alajuelense.

FW Alexander Lopez, Alajuelense – Lopez helped Alajuelense equalize 1-1 late in the first half with a brilliant right-footed shot after he had created space for himself. The 2020 Golden Ball winner looks primed for another top performance in a Final.
