PANAMA CITY, Panama - The night of August 19, 2014 is likely a date that Chorrillo FC fans won't soon forget.

Two years after their first ever appearance in a Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, in which they completed the 2012/13 SCCL group stage with a 0W-0D-4L record, Chorrillo achieved one of the greatest victories for a Panamanian club in CONCACAF history.

On matchday two of the 2014/15 SCCL, then reigning CONCACAF champions Cruz Azul of Mexico came to town.

But unlike their 6-0 home defeat in the 2012/13 SCCL to then reigning champions Monterrey, Chorrillo produced 90 minutes of magic to topple La Maquina 1-0 and earn the club's first ever SCCL victory.

It was just the start of one of the most competitive group stage campaigns in recent memory.

Also facing Alajuelense of Costa Rica, Chorrillo would earn another point in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Tico side on matchday five, completing the group stage with a 1W-1D-2L record and four points, just two points behind group winners Alajuelense and a single point back of Cruz Azul.

Chorrillo's next crack at CONCACAF competition would not come until three years later, in the 2017 Scotiabank CONCACAF League, but once again the Canalero side would rise to the occasion.

In their Round of 16 tie against Honduras Progreso, a pair of 1-0 wins earned Chorrillo a 2-0 aggregate triumphant. That set the stage for a memorable quarterfinal clash with eventual finalists Santos de Guapiles of Costa Rica.

This time though, fate was not on Chorrillo's side and a 2-0 aggregate defeat concluded their SCL campaign.

Fortunately for Chorrillo fans, dreams of CONCACAF nights will be realized again as Chorrillo take aim at the 2018 SCL, and with that, the chance for more magical moments.
