SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – CD FAS has bolstered its attack prior to next week’s 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League quarterfinal versus Arabe Unido of Panama with the addition of FW David Rugamas.

The club announced the signing of Rugamas on Thursday via its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Following the unfortunate injury to striker Victor Hugo Montano, who is out of action for a month after suffering a right leg strain in last week’s 1-1 SCL draw at Perez Zeledon, the Salvadoran club moved quickly to enlist the services of Rugamas.

The 28-year-old boasts plenty of experience in Concacaf, having appeared in four Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League matches with Isidro Metapan during the 2015/16 edition in which he scored two goals.

Rugamas also made two appearances in last season’s SCL with fellow Salvadoran club Aguila.

Rugamas is a proven goalscorer in El Salvador’s first division. In 45 matches with Juventud Independiente he tallied 22 goals, while as a member of Isidro Metapan, Rugmas scored 21 goals in 51 matches.

Last season with Aguila the attacker found the back of the net four times in 28 matches.

Rugamas is expected to make his FAS debut this Saturday versus Sonsonate.

Rugamas and FAS resume SCL action on Tuesday, August 21 when they host Arabe Unido in the quarterfinal first leg, before traveling to Panama on Tuesday, August 28 for the second leg.
