MIAMI – The Round of 16 of the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup delivered top moments as the quest to crown a new champion continues.

Here is a look at the best moments from the Round of 16:

Liga MX champs Toluca rally in Epic Match of the Week

After falling 3-2 on the road against San Diego FC in the First Leg, Deportivo Toluca FC headed home with work to do.

The Diablos Rojos scored the goal to level the aggregate score in the 43’, but they stepped it up another level in a dominant second half, scoring three goals to win the match 4-nil, and advance 6-3 on aggregate.

The result marked the first time in 57 years that Toluca defeated a debuting club by a four-goal margin in an international series.

Tigres complete incredible comeback

Tigres UANL had its back against the wall following a 3-nil First Leg defeat in Cincinnati.

The Second Leg in Mexico was a completely different story as they scored four goals in 49 minutes, led by an Ozziel Herrera brace. The Mexican side had taken the lead on aggregate until Kévin Denkey scored for FC Cincinnati to give the MLS side the advantage on away goals.

Fighting until the very last second, Tigres pulled off an unforgettable moment in the 90’+8’ when Fernando Gorriarán ripped a blast from outside the box for the series-winning goal to send the crowd into a frenzy and advance to the Quarterfinals.

The result saw Tigres become the second Mexican team to achieve such a comeback in a two-leg series, and the first to do so in the Round of 16. The feat also marked the third time the club scored five goals in a second leg, their highest total in this stage.

Messi scores 900th career goal

Sitting on 899 career goals, Lionel Messi needed just one more to hit another major milestone. It took just seven minutes into the Second Leg against Nashville SC to reach the 900th goal of his illustrious career.

Pec surges into top scorer

LA Galaxy winger Gabriel Pec was unstoppable in the series against Mount Pleasant FA. He netted a hat trick in the First Leg and followed it up with a brace, accounting for five of the club’s six goals scored in the series. He is now the leading scorer in this year’s tournament.

Pec is now the leading scorer in this year’s edition and the club’s second all-time scorer in the tournament behind Robbie Keane (9).

The four Quarterfinal matchups are set, all featuring MLS and Liga MX encounters. On one side of the bracket, Deportivo Toluca FC will take on LA Galaxy, and Cruz Azul faces Los Angeles FC. The other side features Nashville SC battling Club América and Tigres UANL taking on the Seattle Sounders FC.
