MIAMI – Leagues Cup winners Seattle Sounders FC are the most improved team, while Cruz Azul retained the top spot, in the latest Concacaf Club Rankings (CCR).

 

 

The Concacaf Club Rankings Index grades all clubs and leagues across the confederation. Teams gain points for results in official domestic league matches, regional cup matches, and Concacaf Champions Cup play.

Seattle Sounders FC breaks into the Top 10 after winning the Leagues Cup

Following its conquest in the Leagues Cup 2025, Seattle Sounders FC (1,213) rose twelve spots to ninth overall. The U.S. club is also the side with the most improvement in the September rankings.

Seattle will begin the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup in the Round of 16 as the Leagues Cup winner. Champions of the 2022 edition, the club will seek its second CCC title.

Olimpia climbs to the top of the Central American Club Ranking

CD Olimpia (1,151) is the highest-ranked team in Central America at 39th overall, moving up six places in the overall rankings. LD Alajuelense (1,147) and CS Herediano (1,142) follow at 41st and 42nd overall as the second and third best sides in the subregion.

Sporting San Miguelito of Panama (1,079) and Aurora FC of Guatemala (1,062) were the second most improved clubs overall by rising 11 places to 68th and 83rd, respectively.

AD Municipal Liberia of Costa Rica (1,069) and San Francisco FC of Panama (1,059) rose ten places to follow as the third most improved sides in 73rd and 85th overall.

Mount Pleasant jumps eight spots to become the second-best Caribbean club

Cibao FC (1,068) is the top-ranked side in the Caribbean, followed by Mount Pleasant FA(1,065), which moved up eight places in the overall standings.

Defending Caribbean Cup Champions Cavalier FC (1,046) follow third in the region.

Plaza Amador defeated the unbeaten Central American Champion

The biggest upset of the past few weeks came at the start of the Central American Cup Group Stage when debuting #52 CD Plaza Amador earned a 2-1 win at #41 LD Alajuelense.

The victory for the Panamanian side marked the first defeat in tournament history for the back-to-back Central American Cup winners, ending an unbeaten streak that spanned over the 2023 and 2024 editions.

Cruz Azul remains at the top of the Concacaf Club ranking

Reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winners Cruz Azul (1,265) remains the top team in the region. Club América (1,238) follows in second place, followed by Inter Miami CF (1,238), Deportivo Toluca FC (1,237), and Columbus Crew (1,230).

Tigres UANL (1,225), Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1,224), CF Monterrey (1,216), Seattle Sounders FC (1,213), and Los Angeles FC (1,208) round out the top ten.
