As one of only two players to strike in a Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League final with two different teams, Edgar Benitez is a true legend of the competition.

His 10 goals tie him for 10th in the SCCL’s all-time scoring table -- netting five times for Pachuca, four for Toluca and once for Queretaro.

The Paraguay international’s biggest moment came in the dying moments of the 2009/10 final, second leg, when his goal in the second minute of stoppage time lifted Pachuca a 1-0 win over Cruz Azul, allowing the Tuzos to lift the trophy on the away-goals rule after a 2-1 loss in the first leg.
