  • Forward Erick Scott, 35, scored late in the second half via header to give Limon a precious win over Santos at the Estadio Juan Goban in Limon.
  • As a result of the loss, Santos was eliminated from Quadrangular contention with a game to be played.
  • Scott now has 22 goals in the 2017 Verano.
  • Limon can win the Quadrangular with a victory at Herediano on Sunday and a Saprissa loss to Santos.

Daniel Colindres 84’ 

  • Forward Daniel Colindres scored in the 84th minute to give visiting Saprissa all three points against first-place Herediano at the Estadio Eladio Rosabal Cordero.
  • It was the fourth time in the 2017 Verano that Colindres was the lone scorer in a 1-0 victory for Saprissa.
  • By virtue of their victory, Saprissa are now second in the Quadrangular, level with first place Herediano with eight points but behind on goal difference (1).
  • Saprissa is unbeaten in 7 of its last games (4W-3D-1L).
  • Herediano’s 6-game unbeaten streak came to an end (4W-2D-0L).
  • Saprissa hosts Santos in the sixth and final round on Sunday, while Herediano welcome in Limon also on Sunday
