MEXICO CITY – Consistently excellent performances throughout the competition by Rubens Sambueza lifted Club America to a second straight Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League title and earned him the Scotiabank Golden Ball award.

Sambueza appeared in nine of the Aguilas’ 10 games, netting one goal and accumulating seven assists.

The 32-year-old is the third straight Argentine to capture the SCCL’s highest honor.  Last year, Club America teammate Dario Benedetto was selected as the recipient, while Cruz Azul’s Mariano Pavone took home the prize after the 2013/14 edition.
