MIAMI, Florida – The margins will be razor-thin on Tuesday night in Houston, Texas, as the Houston Dynamo host St. Louis City SC in the second leg of their 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Round One series at Shell Energy Stadium.
The two Major League Soccer (MLS) sides in an exciting first leg affair last week in St. Louis, where St. Louis City emerged with a late 2-1 victory thanks to a goal in second half stoppage time from Hosei Kijima.

In their first ever Champions Cup match, St. Louis City earned a first victory and now they will be seeking a first Champions Cup series victory in Houston.
Kijima was the epitome of an impact substitute in coming off the bench to score the winning goal. He also became the first Japanese player to score a Champions Cup goal in the process.
Tim Parker supplied the other goal for St. Louis, while dangerous striker Joao Klauss led the team in shots with four. As always, veteran GK Roman Burki was an anchor in net and made five key clearances.
Houston certainly showed they were up for the challenge in going toe-to-toe with St. Louis City in the first leg, despite missing star midfielder Hector Herrera through injury.
Sebastian Kowalczyk tallied the Dynamo goal and finished with 57 completed passes and two ball recoveries. MF stalwart Adalberto Carrasquilla had a whopping eight ball recoveries, while Micael Dos Santos led the team in shots with two.
Winners of four of their last five Champions Cup matches at home, the Dynamo will try to improve that record in front of the home fans and register a comfortable enough win to advance to the Round of 16.
