MIAMI – The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 continues as 2023 Concacaf Champions Cup runners-up Los Angeles FC face Espérance de Tunisie in Group D at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

LAFC in the hunt of first Club World Cup win

LAFC continues its debut campaign in search of a historic first win in a Club World Cup. The Black and Gold fell 2-nil against Chelsea FC in its opening fixture.

The California side will to its attack led by Denis Bouanga to claim its first points in the tournament.  The top scorer of the 2023 Concacaf Champions Cup, Bouanga leads Los Angelinos with 11 goals across all competitions this season.

ES Tunis in fourth FIFA Club World Cup

ES Tunis is also in the search of its first points in the competition after falling 2-nil to Flamengo.

The winningest side in Tunisian Professional League 1 history, with 34 titles, is in its fourth FIFA Club World Cup after competing in the 2011, 2018 and 2019 editions under the previous format.

Espérance are one of four African clubs in this year’s edition, securing a spot through the CAF ranking system. Despite not winning the CAF Champions League between 2021 and 2024, the team consistently advanced deep into the tournament, accumulating enough ranking points to secure one of the African slots.
