MIAMI, Florida – The 2023 Leagues Cup will come to an exciting conclusion on Saturday night, as Inter Miami lock horns with Nashville SC in the Final at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tennessee.

It will be an unforgettable night for the winner, as both clubs are vying for their first ever trophy. By virtue of their respective semifinal victories, Inter Miami and Nashville have clinched berths in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, yet Saturday’s contest holds the dangling carrot of advancing directly to the Champions Cup Round of 16, while the runner-up will begin the competition in Round One.

Inter Miami have been nearly impeccable since the arrival of Argentina superstar and 2022 FIFA World Cup winner Lionel Messi.

The team has amassed five wins and one draw in that period to reach the final, scoring 21 goals along the way. After his goal in the 4-1 semifinal triumph over the Philadelphia Union, Messi now has accounted for nine of those 21 goals, making him the top scorer in this inaugural Leagues Cup.

Nashville have shown great grit and determination in advancing to the Final. The team overcame a group stage defeat to Toluca by winning a penalty shootout against FC Cincinnati in the Round of 16.

Nashville then proceeded to eliminate seven-time Concacaf champions Club America in a penalty shootout in the Round of 16, followed two rounds later by a hard-fought 2-0 win versus five-time Concacaf champions Monterrey in the semifinals.

Earlier in the day on Saturday, the Philadelphia Union will face Monterrey in the Third-Place Match at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, where there will be plenty at stake.

A victory for the Union would earn Philadelphia a place in the 2024 Champions Cup Round of 16, giving the MLS side their third overall Champions Cup appearance.

Meanwhile, Monterrey are already qualified for the 2024 Champions Cup, so in the event of a win for Rayados, the Round One berth will go to Club Leon as the non-qualified team that has the next best number of regular season points in the overall season (Apertura and Clausura for Liga MX).
