MIAMI – Inter Miami CF and Al Ahly FC drew nil-nil in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 opening match on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, USA.

The Egyptian side had a dangerous look early through Emam Ashour in the 8’, but the player’s attempt inside the box was met by a save from Inter Miami goalkeeper Óscar Ustari.

Ustari had two key interventions before the half to keep Al Ahly scoreless. The Inter Miami man first saved a header from close range by Achraf Dari in the 33’, before stopping a penalty attempt by Trezeguet in the 43’.

Fafa Picault came close to granting Inter Miami a lead in the 85’, but his powerful header following a cross from Lionel Messi was tipped over the bar by Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed Elshenawy.

Inter Miami had two more chances in added time, with a spectacular long-range attempt from Messi in the 90’+6’ hitting the woodwork and a header from Maximiliano Falcón in the 90’+8’ being deflected over the crossbar.

The two sides took a point each to open the action in Group A. Inter Miami CF next challenge will come against FC Porto on Thursday in Atlanta.
