- Winner will be crowned regional champion and qualify for the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup
Miami, FL – Concacaf has confirmed that the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Final between Cruz Azul (Mexico) and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC (Canada) will be played on Sunday, June 1, at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City, Mexico. This epic battle between two of the continent’s best clubs is scheduled to kick off at 9:00 p.m. ET (7:00 p.m. local).
In addition to being crowned as the Confederation’s new club champion, the winner of the Final will qualify for this year’s FIFA Intercontinental Cup – disputed amongst the Confederations’ club champions – and the second edition of the new and expanded FIFA Club World Cup, set for 2029.
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC secured a spot in the Final with a series of impressive performances, culminating in a dominant 5-1 aggregate victory over Inter Miami CF in the Semifinals. The Canadian club’s journey to the Final began in Round One with a comeback win against Deportivo Saprissa, followed by a thrilling away-goals victory over CF Monterrey in the Round of 16. In the Quarterfinals, they secured a dramatic 2–2 draw against Pumas UNAM, with a stoppage time equalizer to advance on away goals.
This marks the Whitecaps’ first-ever appearance in the Concacaf Champions Cup Final, making them the third Canadian club to achieve this. Previously, CF Montréal (2014/15) and Toronto FC (2018) also reached the Final, with both clubs finishing as runners-up.
In the other semifinal series, Liga MX clubs Cruz Azul and Tigres UANL faced off, with Cruz Azul advancing to the Final after a 1-0 victory in the second leg (2-1 aggregate). Cruz Azul’s road to the Final included dominating performances, starting with a 7-0 win over Haiti’s Real Hope, a 4-1 win over the Seattle Sounders in the Round of 16, and a 2-1 victory against city rivals Club América in the quarterfinals.
Cruz Azul’s most recent appearance in the Champions Cup Final was in 2013-14, where they secured their sixth Continental club title by defeating Deportivo Toluca. The other five titles came in the 1969, 1970, 1971, 1996, and 1997 editions.
The club with the most titles in the Concacaf Champions Cup is Club America, with 7.
In accordance with the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup regulations, the host for the single-leg Final has been decided based on the tournament’s cumulative standings table, with the highest-ranked finalist hosting the match.
After the Semifinals, the standings are as follows:

The Round of 16 was held in March, followed by the Quarterfinals in the first half of April, and the Semifinals in late April and early May.
