MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continues as Club America hosts CD Olimpia in the Second Leg of their Round One series on Wednesday at Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico.

The winner on aggregate will advance to the Round of 16. Away goals serve as the primary tiebreaker. If necessary, extra time and a penalty shootout will decide the winner.

Club America sealed a 2-1 win over CD Olimpia last Tuesday at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés in Tegucigalpa Honduras. Víctor Dávila and Ramón Juárez scored the goals in the first leg as the club vies for a record eight CCC title. Las Águilas will defend its lead at home as it seeks to secure a place in the Round of 16.

CD Olimpia didn’t leave its home stadium empty handed, as Jorge Álvarez found the net in the first leg. Players like David Flores, who has one goal in the Liga Nacional of Honduras, and Jose Mario Pinto, who delivered the assist to Álvarez, will look to help Los Leones turn things around and get to the next round.

Post-Match Data

The 2-1 defeat against Club América was Olimpia’s second consecutive loss in the competition, after closing its 2023 participation with a 4-0 defeat away to Atlas FC on March 14, 2023.

It was also Olimpia’s third loss in its last four home matches in the tournament (W-1 L-3). The lone win in that stretch was a 4-1 victory against Atlas FC in the first leg of the 2023 Round of 16 on March 8, played at Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano. Goals were scored by Kevin López, Jorge Benguché (2) and Jerry Bengtson (penalty), while Julio César Furch scored for the “Rojinegros” from the penalty spot.

Olimpia lost for the third time in the all-time series against Club América in seven matches, and for the second consecutive time at home, following a 2-1 defeat in the Round of 16 on April 7, 2021, also played at Estadio Nacional Chelato Uclés.

It marked the ninth time CD Olimpia lost the first leg at home in a two-legged series; history shows that the two-time Concacaf champion has never advanced after losing the home first leg.
