AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico - Ronaldo Cisneros probably won't ever forget Guadalajara's 3-1 win at Necaxa on Saturday
Not only did the former Santos youth standout earn his first start with Chivas (1W-1D-1L, 4 points), but he scored the winning goal in the 65th minute. On top of all that, it was Cisneros' first-ever Liga MX goal in 10 appearances.
Needless to say, the 21-year-old striker was on cloud nine following the match.
"Since the day the news came that I was coming to Chivas, I dreamed of this and luckily today it came true," said Cisneros.
The goal could be the catalyst for what promises to be a special football career. Considered one of Mexico's top young talents, Cisneros took home the Golden Boot award at the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in Costa Rica with six goals and went on to bag a pair of goals at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
After being acquired in December, Cisneros feels like he is starting to hit his stride.
"The truth is that it was hard for me to physically adapt to the team's training. They are very intense," he finished. "But luckily I have gotten the rhythm and the team has taken me in and given me a lot of confidence."
