PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – Host Don Bosco FC (Haiti) struck for four second-half goals to open 2016 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship first-round play with a 5-0 win over Somerset Cricket Club (Bermuda) on Wednesday at the Stade Sylvio Cator.

The result gave the Haitian power an early advantage in three-team Group 2 with Somerset Cricket Club returning to action on Friday against La Gauloise (Guadeloupe).

Kenley Dede (44’) scored to make it 1-0 just before the break. After the hour mark, though, the Bermudian side’s defense finally opened up. An own-goal by Jomari Gooden (61’) was followed by additional tallies from Agustin Campomar (76’), Jhon Benchy Estama (82’) and Massigno Joseph.

Estama netted five goals in the 2015 CFU Club Championship for Don Bosco, which finished in fourth place.

The CFU champion, runner-up and winner of the third-place match will earn places in the 2016-17 SCCL.
