MIAMI – Fresh off winning its sixth Concacaf Champions Cup title, Mexican club CF Pachuca is the new number one in the latest Concacaf Club Rankings (CCR) edition.

The Concacaf Club Rankings Index grades all the clubs and leagues across the confederation. Teams gain points for results in official domestic league matches, regional cup matches, and Concacaf Champions Cup play.

Pachuca takes top spot after winning Champions Cup

CF Pachuca is the region’s new number one after defeating formerly top-ranked Columbus Crew, 3-0, in the 2024 Champions Cup Final. The Tuzos won its sixth trophy and took first place for the first time this year.

The club’s championship squad featured five players from the Concacaf Champions Cup Best XI, presented by ARAMCO, including the tournament’s winner of the Best Player Award, presented by Scotiabank, and the Top Scorer Award, presented by Qatar Airways, Salomon Rondon.

Victory over Columbus gives Pachuca the biggest upset

The recent Champions Cup Final pitted the top two teams in the rankings. The direct clash allowed Pachuca to upset the top-ranked Crew, who were also undefeated until the final.

Pachuca fielded the youngest squad in Liga MX, with an average age of 23.8, and won the Champions Cup with that same squad. Its championship team fielded some of the rising stars in the region, including the winner of the Young Player Award, presented by ARAMCO, Emilio Rodriguez. The 21-year-old winger scored a goal in the final to help the Tuzos defeat the defending MLS Cup champions.

Tauro FC jumps into the Central America Top 10 after winning 17th league title

Tauro FC sits alone atop the all-time winners of the Liga Panameña de Fútbol after obtaining its 17th league title. Its latest achievement lifts the club to 58th overall and ninth among Central American clubs.

Because of its strong season, Tauro will be one of twenty participants in the upcoming Central American Cup. The tournament will also feature the other champions in Central America like Deportivo Saprissa (41st overall, 1st CA), CD Olimpia of Honduras (43rd overall, 2nd CA), and CSD Municipal of Guatemala (52nd overall, 5th CA).

The Central American Cup will kick off on July 30 but teams will find out their placement in the group stage this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. ET in the tournament’s official draw.

AC Port of Spain among biggest movers after qualifying for Caribbean Cup

AC Port of Spain made one of the biggest leaps up the rankings, moving up five spots to 151st overall following its recent qualification to the Concacaf Caribbean Cup.

The club won the 2024 TT Premier Football League for a consecutive season. The Caribbean Cup will begin on August 20, but teams will find out their opponents in Thursday’s Group Stage draw at 5:00 pm ET
