HARRISON, N.J. -- Four games, eight goals, two hat-tricks.

Can New York Red Bulls striker Bradley Wright-Phillips get any hotter?

The Englishman is experiencing one of the greatest scoring streaks in the 19-year-old history of Major League Soccer.

It just seems that everything Wright-Phillips touches turns to goals.  And, to top it all, he leads the league with nine of them.

The 29-year-old could not immediately recall ever being on a similar scoring roll in his professional career.

"I'm not really sure," he said.  "When I was at Charlton, I got a few goals.  I've been on a few runs, but I'm not sure how many goals there were in games."

He stressed that he has not done anything different as to spur the run.

"I feel the same," said the Manchester City and Southampton player.  "When I was missing any chances I was still trying to get into the same area.  Now they just go in.  And there will be a time when it stops."

Here’s a look at his current four-game scoring streak:

* April 23 -- Three goals in a 4-0 home victory over the Houston Dynamo to become the first Englishman in MLS history to register a hat-trick

* April 26 -- The equalizer in a 1-1 tie at the Columbus Crew

* May 4 -- The only goal in a 1-0 road triumph at FC Dallas

* May 10 -- Another three goals in a 5-4 home loss to the Chicago Fire

"Bradley's been hot," Red Bulls coach Mike Petke said.  "It's unfortunate because any game we score four goals in and one player has a hat-trick and you walk away with a loss, there's something very freakish about that.

"But Bradley is coming into his own lately, in his last four or five games.  It is very refreshing and very good for us obviously, and for him individually for his confidence."

Petke did not see it coming in practice.

"Once he just got that goal, he's a streaky striker that obviously is boosted by some confidence." he said.  "He got that one goal.  He got that monkey off his back, as you would say, and then he just ran with it.  What we need him to do is to keep that confidence and keep going."

Wright-Phillips will try to make it five consecutive games with a goal, when New York visits Toronto FC on Saturday.

The Red Bulls will participate in the CONCACAF Champions League later this summer
