With the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League final, first-leg encounter between host Tigres and Pachuca slated for April 18, CONCACAF.com is taking a look back at some of the competition’s greatest players.
One of those is Tigres winger Damian Alvarez. The 37-year-old has won three CONCACAF club titles with Pachuca – his team’s opponent in the upcoming 2016/17 SCCL final – lifting the Champions’ Cup trophy in 2007 and 2008, while celebratinf on the podium after prevailing over Cruz Azul in the 2009/10 Champions League decider.

Alvarez, who has won three Liga MX titles since joining UANL from the Tuzos in 2010, has netted four career goals in SCCL play, a pair with both Pachuca and Tigres – including one in a final.
