LONDON – West Ham United announced Thursday that it acquired Ecuador international Enner Valencia from Pachuca and signed him to a five-year contract.
The 25-year-old is coming off an impressive 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where he scored three goals in as many games.
The move comes nearly six months to the day since the forward joined the Tuzos from Ecuador’s Emelec.
In his only season in Mexican football, Valencia netted a remarkable 18 goals in 23 Clausura games, as Pachuca finished runner-up to Leon and earned a berth in the 2014/15 CONCACAF Champions League.
