PACHUCA, Mexico – If Pachuca is to have any chance of advancing to the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, it has no other choice than to beat visiting FC Dallas in the second leg of their semifinal on Tuesday at the Estadio Hidalgo.

Dallas won series opener, 2-1, last month and will progress with a victory or a draw.

The scenarios are slightly more complicated for the host Tuzos. They will advance on the away-goal rule with as a little as a 1-0 win. However, if FC Dallas scores, Pachuca can only earn a spot in the final with a triumph of two goals or more.

Statistics tilt in favor of the Mexican power, which has never lost at home in SCCL play and is the only team in the competition’s history to go unbeaten in its first 13 home games.

Can Pachuca continue the streak and return to the SCCL final for the first time since 2009/10, when it prevailed Cruz Azul on the away-goals rule?
