TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – Honduras international Arnold Peralta has joined Olimpia, the club announced Friday evening.
The 25-year-old midfielder returns to his native country after spending less than two years with Scotland’s Rangers FC, which terminated his contract by mutual consent on January 21, scoring one goal in 24 appearances.
Peralta started his professional career with Honduran side Vida in 2008, before making the jump to Europe in June 2013.
He has won 30 caps for the Catrachos, including 12 in World Cup qualifiers and four in Central American Cup play.
Olimpia will face Costa Rica’s Herediano in the 2014/15 CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, opening their series at home on February 24.
