MONTREAL - The Impact de Montreal announced Tuesday that the second leg of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) final against visiting Club America on April 29 at the Stade Olympique will be played in front of a capacity crowd of 59,020.
The attendance will be the highest in club history, topping its inaugural MLS home opener on March 17, 2012, against the Chicago Fire (58,912).
"This is a new record for the club in terms of sales pace as we filled the stadium in less than two weeks, which is exceptional," said Impact executive vice-president Richard Legendre. "We will be relying on our 12th man to help the club become CONCACAF champions and represent the region at the FIFA Club World Cup."
A new SCCL attendance mark is set to be established on Wednesday, when Montreal meets host Club America at the 104,000 seat Estadio Azteca.
