FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas announced Tuesday that it has signed center back Norberto Paparatto.

The Major League Soccer side acquired the Right of First Refusal on Paparatto from the Portland Timbers in exchange for financial considerations.

The 32-year-old began his professional career in 2005 with Lanus in his native Argentina. He transferred to Tigre, another Argentinean club, in 2007. In a seven-year stint with Tigre, Paparatto made over 120 appearances.

Paparatto was signed by Portland ahead of the 2014 season, going on to make 19 MLS appearances and scoring two Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) goals.

Since departing MLS this past offseason, Paparatto has played in five games for Atletico Rafaela in Argentina.

FC Dallas opens its 2017/17 SCCL campaign on Thursday against visiting Real Esteli.
