RIONEGRO, Colombia – Colombian top-flight side Rionegro Aguilas announced Thursday the acquisition of Costa Rica international Johnny Acosta on a one-year loan from Herediano.
The 34-year-old defender had been with the Florenses since August 2016.

He has appeared in five different editions of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions, competing in 25 games (24 with Alajuelense, 1 with Herediano).
With Costa Rica, the 65-time capped Acosta has played in the FIFA World Cup (2014: 2 games/0 goals), the CONCACAF Gold Cup (2011: 4/0, 2017: 4/0), the Copa America (2011: 3/0, 2016: 3/0) and the Copa Centroamericana (2014: 3/0, 2017: 5/0).
