Miami, FL – The Concacaf Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned Tigres UANL (MEX) player Rafael Carioca for an on-field incident that took place during the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Second Leg Round of 16 match between Tigres UANL (MEX) and Orlando City SC (USA) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
After considering the evidence gathered during their investigation and based on the competition’s regulations and the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the Disciplinary Committee has imposed a one-match suspension on Rafael Carioca for serious foul play. The one-match suspension is in addition to the automatic one-match suspension for the on-field direct red card.
The player in question must serve the suspension (two matches in total) during the upcoming 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup matches.
