DENVER, Colorado – Club America earned a 2-0 win over 2016 Liga MX Clausura champion Pachuca in a friendly at Sports Authority Field.

It was the first match of the ‘Tour Aguila’ for the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League winner, while Pachuca completed a series of three friendlies in the United States.

Bruno Valdez scored the first goal in the 17th minute, heading Rubens Sambueza’s right-sided delivery past goalkeeper Oscar Perez.

In the 66th minute, Sambueza – the 2015/16 SCCL’s Golden Ball winner -- doubled the advantage, when he fired home a free kick from the edge of the penalty area.

Club America will return to action on Sunday against Leon in Chicago.
