MEXICO CITY – Club America bolstered its attack ahead of its 2018 Liga MX Clausura and 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League campaign with the acquisition of French forward Jeremy Menez from Turkey’s Antalyaspor.

“Club America has reached an agreement with Club Antalyaspor of Turkey and player Jeremy Menez for his permanent transfer,” the Mexico City-club announced Thursday via a statement on its website.

Menez spent the previous six months with Antalyaspor, after previous spells at French clubs Bordeaux, Paris Saint-Germain (French champion in 2012/13 & 2013/14), Monaco and FC Sochaux, plus time with Italy’s AC Milan and Roma.

The 30-year-old joins Tigres forward Andre-Pierre Gignac as the only French players currently in Liga MX.

Similar to Gignac, Menez has earned caps with France, appearing in seven matches and scoring two goals (including one in a 2-0 win over Ukraine in the 2012 European Championship). He has also netted six times in 20 UEFA Champions League games.
